PRSA and AAF NETN invite you to join us on Thursday, July 19 for a special guest to the Tri-Cities! Author and industry pioneer, Jane Maas, said by Ad Week and many others to be “the original Peggy Olson,” prototype on whom the role was modeled in the original AMC’s series Mad Men, will share her stories from 1960s Madison Ave. Mad Men era, during a co-sponsored luncheon by AAF Northeast Tennessee and PRSA luncheon. The luncheon is open to the public and will be held at the Bank of Tennessee at 100 Med Tech Parkway, 3rd floor, in Johnson City on July 19 at 11:30am.

In addition to playing the famed role of Peggy Olson, Maas is also the author of MAD WOMEN: the Other Side of Life on Madison Avenue in the Sixties and Beyond. The book tells the true story of what it was like for women in advertising in that era. Jane is respected within the advertising industry and is best known for her direction of the “I Love New York” program, which revitalized New York City’s tourism. Maas was a creative director at Ogilvy & Mather and has worked for many well-known brands. She is co-author of How to Advertise, which sold over 150,000 copies and has been translated into 17 languages, she has published an autobiography and she is listed in Who’s Who in America.

Maas has been hailed as a great storyteller in The Hollywood Reporter, The New York Times, The Huffington Post and more. She is winner of Advertising Woman of the Year and the Matrix Award from Women in Communications. “We are thrilled to have Jane Maas speak to our group,” says AAF Northeast Tennessee President Sarah Clevinger.
